Carbon Footprint

A carbon footprint is the total amount of greenhouse gases (GHGs) generated by our actions, expressed in carbon dioxide equivalent (CO₂e). It measures the impact of human activities on climate change.

Components of a Carbon Footprint

Scope 1

Direct emissions

Scope 2

Purchased energy

Scope 3

Value chain

How to Calculate Carbon Footprint

The basic formula is: Activity Data × Emission Factor = CO₂e

For example: 1,000 kWh of electricity × 0.82 kg CO₂e/kWh = 820 kg CO₂e
